Gary Parr is Senior Managing Director at Apollo and a member of the Firm’s Leadership Team. Previously, Gary was Deputy Chairman and on the board of directors of Lazard, LLC. Prior to that, he was with Morgan Stanley as Vice Chairman, Head of Global Financial Institutions, and Co-Head of the Global M&A Group. Earlier, he was the Co-President of Wasserstein, Perella investment bank.

Gary is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and received his MBA from Northwestern University. He currently serves as Chairman of the Parr Center for Ethics at the University of North Carolina, which he founded in 2005. He was a trustee of the Morgan Library. He was previously Chairman of the New York Philharmonic, Chairman of Venetian Heritage, and a board member of Lincoln Center and the Berkeley Divinity School at Yale. Gary received the Outstanding Alumni Award at the University of North Carolina in 2013, where he graduated with honors and Phi Beta Kappa.
